4th Grade
Welcome 4th Grade Terriers and Parents!
Language Arts
Students entering fourth grade must make an important transition from learning to read to reading to learn in subject-matter content. To do this effectively, students must be fluent and automatic readers.  Fourth graders must be prepared to read and comprehend complex narrative and expository texts in such content areas as history–social science and science.  Additionally, students begin working with basic keyboarding and technology use.  All fourth grade students at Ramona participate in Reading rotations to maximize their reading ability.
By the end of grade four, students understand large numbers and addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers. They describe and compare simple fractions and decimals. They understand the properties of, and the relationships between, plane geometric figures. They collect, represent, and analyze data to answer questions.
